Featured article
This is a featured article talking about the new and innovative ways that you can create a blog which will also be partnered as a featured article in a article submission website. Is that a mouth-full or what? The idea is, is that you have been entering your blogs now with the content of anywhere from 250 to 750 words per posting. Even at 750 that’s a lot for a person to digest just to see what you are doing today.
Your next level up, beyond your own daily or weekly blog, is to create a featured article. In my workshops on both social network marketing and search engine optimization I say that you should try to create a featured article such as this one once per week. Decide on a particular day of the week, and on that day start your new blog with your 500 word blog entry referencing your new featured article you are going to begin writting. Once you end your blog entry add the following, “If you would like more information on this, see our featured article…” place a link to your main focused URL.
If you have not done so already, you need to go ahead and get the Google toolbar and add it to your browser. Go under the options on this toolbar once installed and one of the options is to create or to view PR rankings. This allows you to see the page ranking according to Google on every site that you go on to. This is very important because the higher the ranking that refers to your website, your blog, or your information, the better the search engine will rank you later on.
Basically, it is like referring somebody in a frat or a sorierty. What this does is if the captain of the football team recommends you, it is a higher ranking than the nerd of the class. Mind you, I was the nerd so I should know. When we look at our PR ranking and we look at how to write a featured article, you have to be aware that as you write the article you want to make sure that you are keeping in mind your key phrases. You want approximately 6 to 10 words that you would like to go ahead and be found under. These are the same words that you would use on your blog and on your website.
You need about 6 percent of your entire length of your article to be those key phrases. In one way or another, or one form or another. An example would be that six out of every 100 words should be search engine optimization workshop if that what I was going to write this featured article. But in fact this article is about how to write a featured article. After I finish this, I will post the actual word counts and percentages at the bottom of this article so that you can see how I put into this article the key phrases I wanted.
Throughout this article, when you look at things like how to write a blog it is just as easy to write a full featured length article if you use some tools such as transcribing. Instead of trying to hammer out 1,000 words to 2,000 on a particular subject, all you have to do is talk for approximately 6 minutes. Most people speak at around 150 to 200 words per minute. I did a test recently and found out that I speak at 174 words a minute. For me, when I look at that, I say 10 minutes is 1,700 words and that’s a bit much. Then I come back and I say between 6 and 8 minutes would give me the magical number of words that most article submission websites want.
How do you remind yourself of your key phrases? Put a post-it note in front of you, a print out, something that reminds you of your phrase. When I sit here and look in front of me I see how to write an article. I may also do how to write a featured article and put some of the other key phrases around it including such things as converting your blog into a featured article.
The best way to do this is to go ahead and transcribe it, for one. For two, don’t write out the script because when you write out the script you lose the flavor of an individual cook. It’s kind of like saying Toll House Cookies can be done by everyone the same way by the same recipe. Well it’s true but there are boutique cookie shops in New York, LA, Chicago who they put just a few more spices or a few more ingredients in and they can charge you $2 a cookie when you could have used the standard way.
Go ahead and put your flavor in; the best way to do this is to transcribe. To have a plan and to set a weekly even to sit down and write this. I’ll have more information on my blog, which is All-About-Training.com and in the upper left hand corner is the blog link. You may also simply do /blog and you’ll see our daily blogs on information.
